Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, has urged the newly inaugurated local government chairmen and councilors in Kwara State to see their positions as a genuine opportunity to serve the people.

In a congratulatory message sent to journalists in Ilorin, Mustapha, who chairs the Senate Committee on Agricultural Production Services and Rural Development, encouraged the new council officials to start meaningful work immediately, focusing on improving the welfare of their constituents, particularly at the grassroots level.

He emphasized the importance of delivering the dividends of democracy by initiating projects and programs that have a direct and positive impact on rural communities. According to Mustapha, the responsibilities of local government officials extend beyond politics and require a commitment to transparency, accountability, and the provision of essential services.

The senator called on the officials to prioritize key areas such as infrastructure development, agricultural support, healthcare, and education, which are crucial for transforming rural areas and improving the livelihoods of the people they serve.

Senator Mustapha also pledged his support and collaboration with the new leaders, particularly in areas related to agricultural development and rural infrastructure. He stressed that through strategic partnerships between federal, state, and local governments, significant progress could be made in reducing poverty and promoting sustainable growth in Kwara State’s rural regions.
