Empowerment and Opportunity: Senator Mustapha’s poultry farming initiative in Kwara central

Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, has launched a poultry farming empowerment program benefiting 200 individuals across his constituency. At an event held in his Ilorin office, each recipient received essential poultry tools, 200 day‑old chicks, and feed to jump‑start their ventures.

These beneficiaries, selected from the four local government areas of the district, previously completed intensive training in modern poultry-rearing methods—an effort led by Tunde Abdulkadir, Senator Mustapha’s legislative aide. The initiative is designed to foster unemployment reduction, bolster food security, and invigorate small agribusinesses in the region.

Senator Mustapha emphasized that the program dovetails with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes agricultural revitalization and self-reliance among citizens. He reaffirmed his commitment to ongoing support through targeted development programs, underscoring agriculture’s role as a catalyst for economic growth and youth employment in his district.

He urged participants to apply their newly acquired skills to build sustainable poultry enterprises. Several beneficiaries described the intervention as a timely, transformative opportunity and pledged their dedication to making the program a success.

This poultry empowerment effort adds to Senator Mustapha’s broader “Alubarika” empowerment campaign, which has previously supported over 2,500 constituents with agricultural inputs, vocational tools, scholarships, and vehicles—an endeavor praised by high-profile figures like Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and Agriculture Minister Abubakar Kyari
