Suspected kidnappers have killed Alhaji Abdullahi Kpotun, the Kwara North Ward Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and his son during an attempted abduction at Lile Village in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State. The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday night.

Although the Kwara State Police Command has yet to officially confirm the attack, the PDP State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Shola Adewara, confirmed the killings.

“Yes, Alhaji Kpotun was killed by suspected gunmen. We are in a mourning mood,” Adewara stated.

A political group, the Kwara Central Strategy Team (KCST), also announced the tragedy in a statement signed by its president, Olayinka Oladimeji. The group expressed its solidarity with the families of the victims and the wider party faithful across the state.
