Actor Baba Tee admits to brief affair with Ijoba Lande’s wife, apologizes

Popular Yoruba Nollywood actor, Babatunde Tayo, better known as Baba Tee, has admitted to having a brief sexual encounter with Dara, the wife of comedian and skit maker Ganiyu Morufu, aka Ijoba Lande.

Baba Tee made the revelation during a live interview with socialite Esabod and other TikTok influencers on Sunday, contradicting his earlier denial of the allegations. Initially, he had challenged Lande to provide evidence or face legal consequences for defamation.

Lande had previously accused his wife of infidelity, claiming that at least 21 men in the entertainment industry had been involved with her. Among those he named was Baba Tee, sparking controversy.

In his initial defense, Baba Tee stated that he met Dara only once, through actress Marygold, and was unaware of her marital status. However, in a new twist, he admitted that he had a “short” sexual encounter with her, which he attributed to being intoxicated during a game of ‘Truth or Dare’ with Dara and Marygold.

“When Marygold and Dara visited my house, she [Marygold] introduced Dara as a content creator, not as Lande’s wife. We started playing ‘Truth or Dare,’ and Marygold went completely naked, continuously daring me and pressuring Dara. Eventually, Marygold dared Dara to have a brief sexual encounter with me, and she agreed,” Baba Tee confessed.

He explained that his earlier denial stemmed from not knowing Dara was Lande’s wife at the time, insisting that he was set up to damage his reputation.

Following the revelation, Esabod advised Baba Tee to publicly apologize to Lande for previously denying the incident and threatening legal action.

Shortly after the interview, Baba Tee took to his official Facebook page to offer an apology.

“I am deeply sorry from the bottom of my heart, brother Lande. Deep how Dara became Lande’s wife without my knowledge… Hmmm. I fear women,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Marygold, the embattled manager of Ijoba Lande, has been accused of recording the encounter between Baba Tee and Dara, further fueling the controversy.
