Chile emerges victorious, beats Nigeria 23-22 in IHF U-18 championship.

Nigeria suffers heartbreaking 23-22 loss Chile in classification match at the ongoing International Handball Federation [IHF] Women’s U-18 Handball World Championship.

Coach Shittu Agboola side on Sunday show relentless spirit when they went head-to-head with the Chilean side by matching them with the same number of shots taken and had an improving shot efficiency compared to their previous matches, but they ultimately fall short of their resilient South American side.

The second half remained intensely competitive, with Nigeria finding success from various angles like; 9 meters shots, wing plays, and fast breaks. Despite this balanced attacked, they struggled to capitalize on close-range opportunities, resulting in a 12-12 draw in the second half. Ultimately, Chile emerged victorious, winning Nigeria 23-22 at the end of the match.

Blessing Igbenedion and Lucy Chinecherem were both the shinning stars as Nigeria continued from where they left off against Angola, but they couldn’t nick it.

In the upcoming fixtures, Nigeria will face Austria in another classification match on Tuesday.
