IGP directs FCID Abuja to assume control of Kwara homicide investigation.

Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has directed the Homicide Section of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja to launch a comprehensive investigation into the alleged murder of Qoyum Abdulyekeen Ishola, a student of Kwara State Polytechnic in Ilorin, Kwara State, which occurred on September 4, 2024.

The police have named the officers implicated in the incident as Inspector Abiodun Kayode, Inspector James Emmanuel, and Sergent Oni Philip, who are all assigned to the Department of Operations at the Kwara State Command.

According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi: “The Inspector-General of Police who is deeply saddened by this unfortunate event that has led to the loss of a young Nigerian, expresses his deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased.”

He stated that the police chief recognized the immense sorrow and loss resulting from this tragic incident and assured the family and the public that Justice would be served.
