Ijara-Isin ward sees major political shift as opposition members flock to APC.
Kwara State’s political landscape undergoes a major transformation as hundreds of opposition party members defect to the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ijara-Isin Ward, ahead of the upcoming local government elections.
The enormous defection of the opposition party happened last week during the APC Ijara-Isin Ward Meeting, Held in Ijara-Isin town, within the Isin local government area of the state.
The party’s chairmanship candidate in the local government welcomed the defectors into the APC fold, Hon. Benjamin Lare Jolayemi, his running mate, Hon. Ganiyat Sanni Omolara, House of Assembly member, Hon. Rasaq Omotosho, Hon. Ayokunle Awolola and other party faithfuls.
Hon. Jolayemi in his statement said “the party remains committed to the welfare of the citizens and assured the members of equal treatment in the affairs of the party.
He urged the citizens to turn out en masse and cast their votes decisively for APC in the forthcoming local government polls, securing uninterrupted development and progress
The key factors that facilitated a huge numbers of defectors to join the party was the numerous developmental projects implemented in the local government area since the emergence of Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and his cabinets.
