Ilorin Emirate Students’ Union Names Senator Saliu Mustapha as Grand Patron
The Ilorin Emirate Students’ Union (IESU) has appointed Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central, as its Grand Patron. This appointment makes Senator Mustapha the second-highest advisory figure in the union, after the Emir of Ilorin, who serves as Permanent Life Patron.
IESU President, Sheikh Zulukainaini AbdulRahman Opolo, announced the appointment during the union’s inaugural Consultative Engagement in Ilorin. Opolo praised Senator Mustapha as a steadfast friend and supporter of the union, highlighting his recent donation of a brand-new space vehicle to ease the union’s logistics challenges.
“Senator Saliu Mustapha has consistently demonstrated unwavering support for our union, transcending administrations,” Opolo said. “We’re proud to name him our Grand Patron and look forward to strengthening our relationship under his patronage.”
The union plans to formally present the letter of credence to Senator Mustapha at a later date. As Turaki of Ilorin Emirate, Senator Mustapha’s recognition by IESU underscores his commitment to youth development, education, and grassroots empowerment in Kwara State.
