Kwara Government partners with CAC to boost youth-led businesses
In a bid to support young entrepreneurs and drive economic growth, the Kwara State Ministry of Youth Development, led by Commissioner Amb. Ndanusa Shehu, has initiated a partnership with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to ease business registration and provide regulatory support for youth-led enterprises.
During a courtesy visit to the CAC office in Ilorin, the commissioner emphasized the state government’s commitment to empowering young business owners through mentorship programs, streamlined business registration processes, and compliance with necessary regulations.
“We seek to simplify the process of formalizing youth-led businesses, provide mentorship, and encourage compliance with business regulations to promote sustainable entrepreneurship,” Amb. Ndanusa stated. “This engagement reflects the government’s commitment to youth empowerment, job creation, and economic development.”
Responding to the collaboration, CAC Director Mr. Tunde Adeoti reaffirmed the Commission’s dedication to educating and assisting young entrepreneurs in registering their businesses and integrating into the formal economy.
He highlighted that registering businesses provides access to government benefits, investment opportunities, and growth support, aligning with the Federal Government’s vision to formalize informal businesses and attract foreign partnerships.
The meeting was attended by key officials from both institutions, including Dr. Mrs. Funmilola Adenike Ajide (Director of Personnel, Finance, and Supply), Alh. Abdulsalam Akeem (Director of Youths), Mr. Sikiru Aminu (Assistant Director of Administration), Mrs. Mujidat Bashar (Assistant Director of CAC), and Mr. Taofik Zubair (Principal Youth Development Officer).
This collaboration marks a significant step in enhancing youth entrepreneurship in Kwara State, providing young business owners with the necessary tools and resources to thrive in a competitive economy.
