The Kwara State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, has called on teachers and staff in state-owned public schools to maintain punctuality and dedication to their duties.

This directive was contained in a statement released on Thursday by the Press Secretary to the Ministry, Peter Amogbonjaye.

During an oversight visit to several schools in Ilorin, the commissioner stressed the importance of strict adherence to professional responsibilities, warning against indolence and absenteeism. He urged teachers to support the government’s commitment to delivering quality education.

“This visit allows me to assess firsthand how well schools are complying with ministry guidelines and directives. I am here to ensure that both staff and students are doing the right thing,” Olohungbebe stated.

He also commended the school management and staff for maintaining clean and safe learning environments, encouraging them to sustain these standards.

Speaking on behalf of the staff, the Junior Principal of Government Day Secondary School, Tanke, Mrs. Adebara Janet Olufunke, expressed appreciation for the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration. She acknowledged the government’s investments in education, including new classroom buildings and the reconstruction of the school’s perimeter fence.

“We sincerely appreciate the government’s intervention in improving school infrastructure. On behalf of the management and staff, I assure you that we will continue to give our best to enhance the quality of education,” she said.
