Kwara State governor Abdulrazaq hails Eniola’s historic Paralympic victory, Africa’s first ever win.
Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara state has extended warm felicitations to the exceptional para-badminton athlete Mariam Eniola Bolaji on her historic achievement of securing Africa’s maiden medal in badminton at the Paralympic Games in Paris.
Eniola, who recently dedicated her rise to number 2 position to the Governor, defeated Ukraine’s Kozyna Oksana 21-9, 21-9 in the Women’s Singles SL3 event bronze medal match in Paris.
Eniola’s win is a groundbreaking achievement, marking not only Nigeria’s first medal at the Paralympic Games but also a historic first for Africa in Paralympic badminton, according to the Governor.
“Eniola’s uncommon feat again underlines the roles of hard work, brilliance, determination, and equitable opportunity in how individuals and societies succeed.
The Governor says “Eniola is a shining example of how people living with physical disabilities should be upbeat about life as they can achieve outstanding success through hard work, determination, and not giving up on themselves.
In commending Eniola for her remarkable achievement, Governor Abdulrazaq urged her and other talented individuals to aim high, confident that the government will provide steadfast supports to all citizens, including those with disabilities.
