Kwara to host Inaugural Beach Volleyball Tournament December 27

Kwara State is set to host its first-ever Beach Volleyball Tournament on December 27-28, 2024, at WaterView Park in Ilorin. The event, organized to boost interest in the sport and discover emerging talent, was announced by Dare Kuti, Media Assistant to Nigeria Volleyball Federation President, Engr. Musa Nimrod.

“This tournament will provide a crucial platform for athletes to showcase their skills and passion,” Kuti said during a press conference on November 4, 2024.

The tournament will welcome participants from military and paramilitary organizations as well as students from tertiary institutions, fostering camaraderie among a diverse range of competitors.

Key partners include the Kwara State Volleyball Association, Nigeria Volleyball Referees Association (Kwara State), University of Ilorin, Kwara State Sports Commission, and the Ministry of Youth Development. Kuti highlighted the need for investment partnerships to strengthen the tournament and promote beach volleyball across Nigeria.

He also encouraged the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in Kwara to support the event through media coverage to boost community engagement.

Kuti congratulated Engr. Musa Nimrod on his recent appointment as President of the CAVB Beach Volleyball Commission, calling it a significant achievement for the Nigerian sports community.
