Senator Mustapha Unveils Plan to Train, Empower Aso-Oke Weavers in Kwara Central
The lawmaker representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, Senator Saliu Mustapha, in collaboration with the National Productivity Centre, has announced a three-day capacity-building training program for selected Aso-Oke weavers across the Kwara Central Senatorial District.
The initiative, which will provide training, equipment, and capital support to enhance the productivity and livelihoods of Aso-Oke weavers, will begin on Thursday, December 5, and conclude on Saturday, December 7, 2024.
According to a statement by the Senator’s Media Assistant, Nasif Sholagberu, the program aims to strengthen traditional craftsmanship and empower beneficiaries to thrive in the competitive textile industry by equipping Aso-Oke weavers with modern tools and financial resources.
The initiative also seeks to complement the efforts of the Kwara State Governor, H.E Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in promoting trades and investments that uplift local enterprises and drive economic growth.
Senator Mustapha stated that the initiative aligns with his commitment to promoting skill development and economic growth within his constituency.
He reaffirmed his commitment to empowering his constituents by promoting skill development, preserving cultural heritage, and driving economic growth across the Kwara Central Senatorial District.
The Senator therefore urged the beneficiaries to fully embrace the training, utilize the resources that will be provided, and remain committed to excellence in their craft to ensure long-term success and sustainability.
