Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, has been conferred with the prestigious title of Agba’akin of Isin Kingdom by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Solomon Oluwagbemiga Oloyede (JP), the Olusin of Isanlu-Isin and Chairman of the Isin Local Government Area Traditional Council.

The announcement, made in absentia, took place during the 2024 Ajokogun Fiesta (Isanlu-Isin Day), held at the Baptist Primary School Playground in Isanlu-Isin, Kwara State.

Describing the title as the highest honor in the Isin Kingdom, Oba Oloyede emphasized its significance, noting that it bestows exceptional influence and privileges across Isanlu-Isin and the entire Isin Local Government Area.

“Senator Saliu Mustapha is a true friend of Isin land,” the Olusin remarked. “His quiet but impactful contributions to the growth and development of our kingdom have resonated not only within Kwara Central but also across Kwara South.”

This honor marks another addition to the Senator’s growing list of traditional chieftaincy titles. In November 2023, he was coronated as the Maiyegun of Obbo-Aiyegunle by the Owa L’Obbo of Obbo-Aiyegunle, Engr. (Dr.) Samuel Oluleye Adelodun, recognizing his longstanding relationship with the community.

More recently, the Oloro of Oro-Ago Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Oba Johnson Olarewaju Dada, along with his Council of Chiefs, conferred the title of Aree Atunluṣe on Senator Mustapha in acknowledgment of his developmental strides and unifying efforts in their community.

The Ajokogun Fiesta, an annual celebration of Isin cultural heritage and unity, provided a fitting occasion for the announcement. The event drew dignitaries, traditional leaders, and residents, all gathered to honor their rich traditions.

With the Agba’akin title, Senator Mustapha now stands among the most esteemed figures in Isin Kingdom, celebrated for his commitment to fostering unity and driving development across various communities in Kwara State.
