Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has appealed to members and elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State to prioritize unity, mutual understanding, and peace to strengthen the party’s position in the state and beyond.

Speaking in Ilorin, the state capital, during a visit by the Ifelodun APC Elders’ Council led by Senator Makanjuola Ajadi, the governor emphasized that a united party is essential for sustained success.

“Unity and peace are critical ingredients for maintaining our winning streak, not just in Kwara but across the nation,” the governor stated. “A divided house will lead us nowhere. If we are divided, others will exploit our weaknesses. Let us strengthen our bond and look forward to a year of prosperity, stability, and collaboration.”

Governor AbdulRazaq expressed his gratitude to the Elders’ Council and other party stakeholders for their unwavering support, promising continued attention to their needs, particularly in areas such as road construction, social amenities, and political appointments.

The governor also acknowledged challenges with some ongoing infrastructure projects in the region, including the Ora township road, expressing dissatisfaction with the performance of contractors. He assured that steps are being taken to address these issues. However, he highlighted completed projects like the Orisa bridge, which now connects Irepodun and Ifelodun local government areas.

Senator Ajadi, representing the Elders’ Council, reiterated their commitment to the APC’s goals, emphasizing that the council comprises representatives from all 18 political wards in the local government. He commended Governor AbdulRazaq for his remarkable achievements, noting that his impact is evident across the state.

Arch. Lukman Abubakar, the APC Chairman in Ifelodun, lauded the governor’s interventions, including the rehabilitation of the Ajase-Ipo/Igbaja road. He also appealed for attention to other critical road projects, including the Igbaja-Oke-Ode/Sagbe road, Panada-Agbayangi-Yaru road, and Marafa/Oke-Ode road.

The meeting underscored the importance of collaboration and collective effort in achieving the party’s goals while fostering development in Kwara State.
